Thembisa Gospel Choir comes out tops
A local gospel choir shone at the Crown Gospel Awards.
The Thembisa Gospel Choir won the best gospel group honours at the Crown Gospel Awards.
The awards honour and recognise individuals in the gospel music industry in SA.
The choir, hailing from Thembisa, raised the bar and put their community on the map through their voices.

The choir members saw winning the award as a fantastic achievement because they were the first gospel group in Ekurhuleni to be nominated and win.

According to choir leader Thulani Ndlovu, its success is because of the many hours of practice, devotion, and the love of ministering gospel music to the people.
“At first, we were happy to know we were among the nominees for the best group because it was a huge moment to realise our efforts are not in vain and that high-up people recognise and value our abilities.
“Being the ultimate champion of the category was the icing on the cake, and it felt good. It showed the hard work and dedication of every choir member.

“It is not easy to take home such a prestigious prize, given the fierce competition. Our aim to touch people’s spirits and share the love of gospel music is something we are grateful for,” said Ndlovu.
