EMPD recovers hijacked vehicle

It was revealed that the Nissan, was reported robbed/hijacked from the liable owner.

The EMPD’s Task Team deployed in the Northern Region recovered a hijacked motor vehicle.

This was during a crime prevention operation in Kempton Park, on February 4.

According to EMPD spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Kelebogile Thepa, officers driving on the R25 came across the suspicious abandoned blue Nissan Micra hatchback.

When officers tested the vehicle it was revealed that the Nissan was reported hijacked.

“All the relevant stakeholders, including the Fingerprints Unit from the SAPS, were summoned to do their work before the recovered hatchback was towed away to the Aeroton police yard for safekeeping,” said Thepa.
