Ivory Park Police uncover dagga dealers during school search
“After shown the light and the folly of their ways, the two learners showed the police to the dealers, an exercise that resulted in the arrest of three suspects for dealing in dagga.”
The Ivory Park SAPS officers recently paid a surprise visit to a local secondary school to conduct a search for unwanted items.
Ivory Park SAPS Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo said the search yielded positive outcomes when two learners were found in possession of dagga.
“After being shown the folly of their ways, the learners led the police to the dealers, which resulted in the arrest of three suspects for dealing in dagga.”

Ngcobo said the elaborate search was successful as the police didn’t go there alone.
“They were augmented and ably supported by the crime prevention wardens, members of the CPF and the Ivory Park SAPS Youth Desk.
“This is what we want to see happening, dealing decisively with disruptive learners and those that encourage the learners to bring illegal, dangerous and unwanted items into our schools,” said Ngcobo.
