Local flying squad arrest suspects and recover stolen vehicles
BFS arrested three suspects and recovered a vehicle and a motorcycle between March 7 and March 9.
Between March 7 and March 9, Benoni Flying Squad members arrested three suspects, recovered one motor vehicle and one motorcycle.
One suspect was arrested on March 7 on North Rand Road, Kempton Park, after he was found in possession of Mandrax.
On March 8, at around 09:30, officers were patrolling on Zuurfontein Road in the Sebenza area when they pulled over a white Toyota truck loaded with scrap tin cans.
“On searching the truck, officers discovered five bags of suspected stolen copper hidden under the cans,” said spokesperson Warrant Officer Grant Giblin.

The 50-year-old suspect was arrested, the copper weighing around 95kg was seized and the truck was impounded.
“At around 20:00 on March 9, officers responded to a complaint from a security company at corner Mercury and Bayley streets in Farramere, where a suspect was caught for allegedly attempting to steal a motor vehicle.”
The suspect, aged 24, was arrested.
A white Nissan NP200 was recovered abandoned at a carwash at Madela Kufa informal settlement in Thembisa.
The vehicle was reported stolen on a Boksburg North case.
A blue Hero motorbike was also recovered abandoned at Bekker Street in Yeoville, and was reported stolen on a Yeoville case.

Investigation continues in all cases.
The suspects will be appearing in the local magistrate’s courts facing charges of possession drugs, possession of suspected stolen property and attempted theft of motor vehicle.
