R21 CLOSED: Downed powerlines pose hazard to motorists
Motorists using the R21 north and south bound are advised to make use of alternative routes while authorities tend to downed cables.
Motorists are advised that the R21 highway has been closed off in both directions after a powerline mast was damaged.
The damage resulted in high-voltage powerlines hanging dangerously low over the freeway.
The R21 north bound towards Pretoria will be closed at the Olifantsfontein Road off ramp.

The R21 south bound from Pretoria to Kempton Park will be closed off at Nelmapius Road.
Road users are advised to use alternate roads.
Motorists driving from Kempton Park to Pretoria can take the Olifantsfontein Road off-ramp towards Midrand while motorists driving from Pretoria can make use of the Nelmapius Road off-ramp through Irene and Centurion to connect to the N1.
No time frame has been given for the re-opening of the road.
