Eight shacks go up in flames in Thembisa
Response units from emergency services were dispatched to the area and managed to combat the blaze before there was any further damage.
In the early hours of May 1, a fire broke out at Madelakufa 2, Thembisa, destroying eight shacks.

According to Ekurhuleni DEMS spokesperson Eric Maloka, there were no injuries reported.

“The fire was extinguished by emergency services personnel.
“Firefighters from stations around Thembisa and Kaalfontein responded quickly to the scene and managed to combat the fire. Only eight shacks were affected,” he said.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined and will form part of an investigation.
