Upcoming Thembisa artist dedicates life to music

Thabang Donavan aims to create his own name in the Amapiano music industry.

Thabang Donavan from Thembisa hopes to get recognised in the music industry by doing what he knows best.

The 22-year-old is an upcoming artist who has always had a dream of becoming a musician.

He promised himself that he would achieve his goal, no matter what.

Donavan said from the start of his journey into the music industry, he has made sure that he gives his dream everything he has.

He was born and raised in Thembisa, a place known for producing talented musicians.

Donavan began experimenting in the amapiano genre four years ago and he said he hasn’t looked back.

He has dedicated much of his time and effort to make sure that his career takes off but, according to him, it hasn’t been easy.

“When one starts a new journey, it’s never easy. I had many ups and downs but told myself that I needed to hold on and keep doing what I needed to do and everything would eventually turn out right.

“Although things are easier now, I still need to work hard because there is a lot to be done and achieved,” he said.
Achieving his goals is what keeps Donavan inspired in life.

He lives by the motto, “Always look on the bright side of life, negative thoughts never brighten the mind”.
He said it helps him to work even harder to be where he wants to be.

As with other musicians, Donavan hopes to one day see his name on billboards.

“It is my dream to share a studio with Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa because they have been an inspiration to me.

“I want to represent South Africa in different countries and I will fight to the end to achieve my goal,” said Donavan.
