Emangweni Primary principal commended for action taken in poisoning incident

The DA supported a school in Thembisa after 16 learners were hospitalised.

A delegation of DA Members of the Provincial Legislature (MPLs), including Refiloe Ntšekhe (political head for Thembisa South), Sergio de Santos and Mike Waters, visited Emangweni Primary School after a poisoning incident on October 22.

The incident affected 16 learners, prompting concern and the need for oversight.

As key figures in the Thembisa community, the DA MPLs emphasised the importance of supporting the community during crises and ensuring the safety and well-being of learners.

Ntšekhe praised the principal for her effective management of the situation.

“The principal has handled the matter well and was transparent about the incident, the measures she took, and the corrective actions being implemented to prevent future occurrences,” said Ntšekhe.
