Kempton suburbs to be affected by 24 hour water maintenance

Some of the areas that can expect to be affected from January 25 include OR Tambo International Airport, Isando, Birchleigh and Kelvin.

Rand Water has announced scheduled maintenance to repair a leak on the O2 pipeline, located along Nasmith Road in Germiston.

This essential route serves the Industrial Park, making the repair work both necessary and logistically challenging.

To carry out the repairs, Rand Water will isolate the O2 pipeline, ensuring safe access for maintenance crews to perform the required work.

The planned maintenance will take place from January 25 to 26 and is expected to last for 24 hours.

The affected areas include OR Tambo, Isando Station, Birchleigh Station, Van Riebeek Station, Kelvin No. 2, Kelvin Emergency, Bedfordview and several areas in Germiston.

Residents and businesses in these areas may experience reduced water pressure or temporary interruptions in water supply during this time.

Potential Impact on Water Supply

Rand Water urges all affected communities to prepare by storing sufficient water for the duration of the repairs.

It is also advised to use water sparingly to minimise inconvenience during the maintenance period.

Ensuring Minimal Disruption

Rand Water is committed to completing the repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to minimise the impact on residents, businesses, and commuters along the busy Nasmith Road.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution when traveling in the area and to plan alternative routes if necessary.
