Water police recover body of missing man from river

Members of Tshwane Water Police and Diving Services (WPDS) were alerted of a vehicle in the Hennops River next to the R511 crossing on January 20.

On arrival, they found a Mitsubishi SUV in the river.

Members searched the vehicle and surrounding area for the victim throughout the day.

Daily searches continued by Gauteng WPDS, SAPS K9 Search and Rescue, NSRI, and Emergency Services, including Fire Department Search and Rescue and CPf members.

On January 23, members on scene received information about a body in the river.

These collaborations played crucial roles in the extensive efforts of the past few days in search of the 36-year-old victim.

The team used various means in this search, including air using drones and helicopters, canoes, boats, divers and members on foot.
