Cable theft and vandalism blamed for another power outage

Customers in both industrial and residential areas are affected and the City of Ekurhuleni estimate restoration time at 23:59.

City of Ekurhuleni technicians are attending to a power supply interruption affecting various parts of Kempton Park.

According to CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini, the outage occured in the early hours of this morning due to cable theft and vandalism.

The power supply interruption affects customers in the industrial and residential areas.

Affected areas include Cresslawn (Gemsbok Street, Fitter Road, Turner Road, Zuurfontein Road, Peerboom
Street) and Esselen Park.

The estimated restoration time is tonight 23:59.

Customers are requested to treat electrical networks as live while work is ongoing.
