Norkem Park CPF, Himax Security clean up Edleen Circle

Norkem Park CPF and Himax Security joined forces to clean up Edleen Circle and Pink Elephant, creating a safer, more welcoming space for residents.

CPF Norkem Park partnered with Himax Security on August 23 to clean up Edleen Circle and Pink Elephant, creating a safer, more welcoming environment for residents. The initiative targeted areas that had fallen into disrepair, leaving the community visibly cleaner and more orderly.

Interaction between CPF patrollers, Himax Security, and the few residents who joined demonstrated strong collaboration and community spirit. Norkem Park CPF chairperson Willem du Plessis highlighted the link between cleanliness and safety. “

“Areas with overgrown grass make it easier for criminals to attack residents. Short grass and cleaner environments don’t only look better, they also demotivate criminals,” he said.

Du Plessis added, “We can never force anyone to join, but even the smallest contribution makes a big difference.”

Himax Security operations member Louise Muller explained the company’s motivation. “We decided to contribute by helping with the cleanup so residents can see that we care not just about their security, but also about their environment,” she said.

Ward 104 councillor Tracey Lourenco praised the effort. “It’s a wonderful commitment from CPF and the community, and highly appreciated by all.

Well done CPF and Himax—you are an inspiration to Kempton Park,” she said, recalling similar community projects carried out by the DA last year.

The cleanup reinforces the importance of community involvement in crime prevention and neighbourhood upkeep, showing what can be achieved when CPF, security partners, and residents work together.
