Kempton Park workshop teaches residents how to start their own business

With South Africa’s unemployment rate hovering around 40% and even higher among the youth, local entrepreneur and community leader Linda Lombard of Abundance Builder is stepping up to inspire change.

In collaboration with Oppiplot and Linda Noppé, she is offering a free workshop to empower residents with the tools, ideas, and mindset to create their own income streams.

The only cost to attend is a small fee to cover refreshments, ensuring the workshop remains accessible to everyone.

“More than 600 000 matriculants will step out of school next year, and traditional job opportunities are scarce,” said Lombard.

“Working for themselves not only provides income but also equips them with valuable skills and experience to thrive in the job market.”

This community-focused initiative follows Lombard’s four successful entrepreneurship seminars previously hosted in partnership with Friends of the Kempton Park Libraries and Birchleigh Library.

The event will take place on October 4 from 09:30 to 12:30 at Oppiplot situated at 284 3rd Ave, Bredell.

While the event is free, a cost of R80 can be paid for refreshments. Seats are limited and bookings are essential.
