Technicians from the City of Ekurhuleni are working around the clock to restore electricity to remaining areas in Pomona and Bredell following a prolonged outage.

Power supply to several suburbs was interrupted on Saturday due to technical issues at the local substation. While electricity has been restored to most affected areas, work is still underway to bring the remaining streets back online.

In Pomona, the following streets are still without power:

• Watsonia Street

• Verona Street

• Mimosa Street

• Agapanthus Street

• Parts of High Road

Small portions of Bredell and Glen Marais also remain affected.

The estimated restoration time has been set for 23:59.
