Melville Koppies is open to visitors every Sunday from 08:00 to 11:30, offering a range of outdoor experiences for all ages.
Families are invited to join the popular storytelling session held on the second Sunday of each month. The next storytelling morning takes place on November 9 and is suitable for everyone, from children to adults.
The short walk up the hill starts at 09:00, followed by two stories that wrap up by 09:30, after which visitors are free to explore the Koppies at their leisure.

Those seeking more adventure can join the 8km guided hike on the last Sunday of the month.
The route takes hikers through Melville Koppies East, offering breathtaking views of the cityscape before looping back into the nature reserve.
Visitors can also book private guided tours by calling 079 532 0083 to learn about the Koppies’ unique natural and heritage significance.
For self-guided activities, there’s plenty to choose from, including a 5km hike, a 3km heritage trail, a trail run, a treasure hunt, or simply wandering and exploring the reserve’s beauty.
Entrance is R100 per adult, R50 for children aged 18 and under, and free for children under five years old. Secure parking is available at Marks Park on Judith Road, with security provided on the Koppies.
