EMPD conduct scholar patrol training at Bredell Primary School

The scholar patrol programme is a learner-led road safety initiative, and the EMPD provides training to schools that have formally applied to participate.

The EMPD’s Social Crime Prevention Unit, in collaboration with the Gauteng Department of Community Safety, conducted a scholar patrol training session at Bredell Primary School in Kempton Park.

As schools reopened for the new academic year, the EMPD’s Social Crime Prevention Unit will roll out a range of programmes and initiatives to educate learners.

During the session, officers trained the scholar patrol learners on road safety, proper conduct, and personal safety while performing their duties.

The Gauteng Department of Community Safety also ensured that the learners received reflective safety vests to enhance their visibility while on duty.
