Beat the heat with Sunday hikes at Melville Koppies
From shaded forest trails to open grasslands, Melville Koppies offers guided and self-guided hikes, storytelling and family-friendly outdoor fun every Sunday morning.
The weather is hot, but hiking on Melville Koppies gives you the chance to enjoy the heat in the wide grassland areas and then to cool down in the forest by the river, where 60-year-old white stinkwoods and river bushwillows provide deep shade.
If you’re not quite ready to try out the 8 km guided hike, get yourselves fit and self-guide yourselves at your own pace on the many trails that traverse the koppies.
Don’t forget storytelling on the second Sunday of the month, the next storytelling is on February 8, the last Sunday of the month, a guided 8km hike and the next 8km hike is on February 22.
