Herotel awards Thembisa resident a brand-new car in summer giveaway
Jerry Tlhoele from Moedi Section won a Suzuki S-Presso in Herotel’s Vuka Summer Competition, marking a festive celebration for the community.
Herotel, an internet service provider operating in Thembisa, has awarded a resident from Moedi Section a brand-new car as part of its Herotel Vuka Summer Competition.
On February 6, the company handed over a Suzuki S-Presso to one of its clients who participated in the 2025 competition.
The initiative attracted thousands of users who rely on Herotel as their internet service provider. After a successful campaign, one winner from Thembisa was selected.

The handover event was an intimate celebration honouring both the winner and the community. Community members received goody bags as a token of appreciation for their continued support. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and gratitude, as the winner described the experience as unexpected.
Katlego Segole, digital media specialist at Herotel, said the company was proud to celebrate its client.
“We are here to award our winner their car, which they won through our summer competition. We had about 50 000 people across the province who followed the guidelines and entered the competition, and we have found our winner here in Thembisa after a successful campaign,” said Segole.
“Through this giveaway, we are also distributing goody bags to the community as part of the celebration. Our goal is not only about sales but also about giving back to the community through CSI projects that are still to come.”
The winner, Jerry Tlhoele (57), said the life-changing call came at the right time.
“I was surprised when I received the call from Herotel. At that time, I had just finished building a wall. After finishing, I received the greatest news on the spot, but I could not believe it because there are a lot of scammers,” he said.

“Winning this car will solve many of my travelling and household challenges, especially since I work far from home.
This car will be essential in many ways, and it came at the time when I needed it the most. I once saw the same car while travelling to work and laughed at how easily it moved past other drivers because of its size.
“Now I will be one of the drivers of that same car. I feel very happy to have been selected and not scammed. Above all, this gesture will come in handy for my family and me.”
