Talitha Oosthuizen, 1st Princess Mrs South Africa, is calling on residents across Gauteng to open their wardrobes and their hearts by donating evening wear dresses to help make the matric ball dreams of 1 000 girls come true.
According to Oosthuizen, for many families, the cost of attending a matric dance can reach R30 000, making this once-in-a-lifetime milestone unaffordable.

Oosthuizen’s initiative aims to change that, ensuring no girl is left out due to financial constraints.
“This is about giving every girl the chance to feel confident, beautiful and included,” said Oosthuizen.
“A single dress can change how a young woman sees herself.”
The campaign invites residents to donate new or pre-loved evening gowns, giving them a second life while creating unforgettable first-time experiences for matric girls in need.
Donations will go beyond clothing.
Selected girls will attend special dress selection events on Youth Day (16 June) and Women’s Day (9 August), where they will enjoy fittings and a memorable experience.
