Police appeal to trace family of man found dead in Sebenza
Sebenza SAPS is asking the public to help identify the relatives of a man whose body was found in an open veld near Modderfontein Road in November 2024.
Sebenza SAPS is appealing to members of the public and family members who may have information about a deceased man found in an open veld to come forward before he is buried as an unidentified person.
According to Ekurhuleni District communications officer Captain Nelda Sekgobela, the 62-year-old man was found deceased in an open veld next to Modderfontein Road on November 21, 2024.

An identity document bearing the name Themba Phineas Gumede was found in the deceased’s possession.
The deceased remains at Germiston Mortuary, and police are appealing to anyone who may be able to assist in locating his family or confirming his identity to contact them.
