Please be advised that the wheelie bins on Aloe Street have not been collected since March.
The rubbish is now collecting on the pavements and is rapidly becoming a health hazard. I have made several telephone calls to the call centre but nothing has been done about it as yet.
I even complained to the councillor via Whatsapp but he didn’t even respond.

I pay my municipal charges, including refuse removal charges, on time every month, so the municipality has breached this contract by not collecting the refuse that they have charged for.
Please advise if the municipality will collect the refuse, or will they pass a refund for the past two months for the refuse not collected?
Kempton Express forwarded this letter to the metro for comment as many other residents have similar complaints, asking for a full statement regarding the refuse removal crisis in Kempton Park.
Themba Gadebe, metro spokesperson, offered this one-sentence reply:
“The city has established refuse collection takes place weekly at Aloe Street. However, when refuse is not collected on the allocated day, it happens the following day or within the same week.”
