The air rifle shop was launched in May last year.

Punter pointed out that anybody and everybody is eligible to purchase a pellet gun from their store.

Before a purchase, each customer is given a crash course.

“Everyone gets trained properly on how to handle a pellet gun before they get sold the air rifle. Unlike at a flea-market where it just gets sold to you with no safety instructions.

“We get buyers from all walks of life,” he explained.

Air Rifle Mega Store specialises in PCP air rifles.

“Most PCP air rifles operate at a pressure of 200 bar.”

According to Punter, most of his clients shoot for pest control, as a hobby, or leisurely shooting, and as hunters.

The shop provides repairs on all PCP air rifles and covers a wide range of optics, targets and air cylinders.

They sell targets, pellets, repair kits, knives, scope mounts, scope rings, optics, air cylinders, compressors, thermal image and night vision scopes and anything associated with shooting and hunting.

“In 1947, our grandfather, Abraham Hendrik Oosthuizen, opened Klipfontein Butchery in Boksburg,” explained Braam.

“My father, who is also Abraham Hendrik Oosthuizen, joined the business and later I started with my dad. I am also Abraham Hendrik Oosthuizen, but people call me Braam as they did my grandfather and father.

“Before my grandfather passed away there was a time where all three generations were in the business. Three generations later, we are still growing strong and building our business on the cornerstones set by our grandfather. We supply only the best quality meat, at affordable prices, and we are known for our friendliness and excellent customer service.

“The three owners of the business are my father, brother and me, but my father is more of a silent partner and my brother Cornel and I run the business with our sister, Yolande, who is in charge of the admin and finances.”

Seventy-one years later, the butchery boasts three branches.

“We have a branch in Birchleigh, Bredell and one in Naboomspruit. All our game we sell comes from the butchery in Naboomspruit.
