BONAERO 74 Football Club honoured its junior players at the annual prize-giving at the club at the weekend.
Acting chairman, Leon Schelvis, congratulated the club’s 15 Easterns league teams, their coaches, managers and supporters for a sterling effort the past year, with several outstanding achievements.
The following team awards were made:
Junior awards:
U/6-U/9 play in a non-competitive league.
U/9 Falkirk: Most improved – Naledi Tenyani (12 goals); most consistent – Ana Pinto; player of the year – Thato Adia.
U/10 division 1: Most improved – Logan Dicks; most consistent – Daniel de Sousa and Declan Ball; player of the year – Kyle Coimbra.
U/11 division 2 (2nd in their league): most improved – Ricardo Lopes; most consistent – Xavier Haman; player of the year – Chad Carreira.
U/12 division 2 (5th in their league): most improved – Ethan Burdett.
U/17 premier league: club player of the year – Sean Aldridge (U/17); Chairman’s Award – Lourens van Dyk.
Both the U/17 and U/13 teams won their leagues.
Honorary Membership was awarded to Laurette Naude, Nicholas Naude and Darren Brown.
The formalities were concluded with the annual general meeting.
The new committee members for 2013/2014 are Leon Schelvis (chairman), Lourens van Dyk (vice chairman), Melanie Smith (secretary), Laurette Naude (treasurer), Justin Cox (senior representative), Sacha-Dee Capazorio (women’s representative), Paulo Coimbra (junior chairman), June Schelvis (registrar) and Tarik Harvey (social representative).
