EIGHT-YEAR-OLD Kempton Park golfer, La-Velle “BaBa” Clark-Halket took second place in the first tournament of the new season of the SA Kids Tour at Seasons Ecco Golf club on October 13.
He is currently practising for the Malaysian Qualifier, the big tournament of the year to be played on November 9 and 10 where he has to play 36 holes over two days.
The best two scores below 88 automatically qualify one for the kids’ tournaments in Malaysia. La Velle missed this opportunity last year when he came third with only one point.
This youngster is in grade 2 at Laerskool Kruinsig and still plays for Avion Park Golf Club.
He can be seen at Living Waters Driving Range with his mentor Eben Uys every day.
