‘BaBa’ is second best in the world

His home club is still Avion Park Golf Club

LA-VELLE “BaBa” Clark-Halket was the runner-up at the world championships in Malaysia from November 30 to December 5.

His dad, Leslie, said the tournament was tough and there were great players as La-Velle competed against the world’s best in the age 8 category.

On December 12 he took first place after having shot a score which nobody could chase at the SA Kids Benoni.

La-Velle said the world championships was his wish come true, as he now knew he was now one of the world’s best golfers in his age group and could compete at world class level.

He is currently second on the world rankings in his age group.

His home club is still Avion Park Golf Club. Clark-Halket said they had numerous offers from different clubs since they returned from Malaysia.

“We are staying in Kempton Park as it would be nice to have another world champ coming from Kempton, just like Ernie Els,” Clark-Halket said.
