Four wins for junior sides

The U/12As beat Daveyton at home by five wickets on Saturday

KEMPTON Park Junior Cricket Club’s teams recorded four wins at the weekend.

The U/8A side played Duduza in an away game in Benoni. Kempton batted first and with tight bowling made 61/7.

Duduza, after being 36/7 during the water break, scored the winning runs with five overs to spare, beating Kempton by three wickets.

The top batsman was Joshua Shanker with 17. Divan de Vries (man of the match) bowled three overs, conceding four runs and taking three wickets. He also contributed four runs with the bat.

The U/10 super league team beat SOB by 89 runs on Saturday. Kempton made 181/2 with Adam Rosslee scoring his first century. He retired on 100* and was man of the match.

Dylan Nicholas also contributed with 34. SOB scored 92/7 with Claudio Jardim taking 2/16.

The U/12As beat Daveyton at home by five wickets on Saturday.

U/8B2 played Benoni away. Kempton won the toss and chose to field. Benoni made 110/3 and Kempton replied with 57/7.

Jordan Southey scored 10 runs with the bat and took 1/1 in two overs. Martin William finished with 0/4 in two overs.

The U/12 super league team beat Duduza by seven runs at home. Man of the match went to Chris Bosman Jansen (58*). Luke Gunter Made 29*.

The best bowlers were Justin Bennet (2/3 in 2 overs), Jordan Barnard (1/15 in 5 overs) and Neil Hunter (1/15 in 4 overs).

Kempton’s U/8B1 side beat Tembisa at home. The home team batted first and scored 82/3 in 25 overs.

Jacques Naude (18*) and Caleb James (7*) both retired. Callum Henderson was run out for 7.

Tembisa scored 57/6 in 20 overs. The top bowlers were Jacques Naude (2 overs, 1/7), Matthew Caldwell (2 overs, 1/4) and Rehaan Mahesh (2 overs, 1/5). Man of the match went to Jacques Naude.
