Allen Park to play against the blind
Players from Allen Park Bowling Club and the Blind Bowlers Association will go head to head in the games
ALLEN Park Bowling Club, in association with the Blind Bowlers Association, will host a bowling day on Sunday.
All fellow bowlers are invited to join the teams for an enjoyable afternoon, where 36 players from the two clubs will play head to head against each other in a friendly competition. The money raised from the event will be donated to the Blind Bowlers Club.
Allen Park will host this event to show people that sport is not only for people who can see, blind people can also participate.
One of the players participating in the games will be visually impaired Carol Miller, a member of Allan Park Bowling Club, who has only 25 per cent vision.
Miller joined the club about a month and a half ago and it was her first time bowling when she joined the club.
Members of the public are invited to come watch the games. There will be a tea garden where snacks and refreshments will be available.
Games will start at 1.30pm.
