Tembisa Cluster SAPS wins in SAPS soccer tournament

This was the first match between the North Rand and East Rand and both teams enjoyed the backing of their supporters

THE North and East Rand SAPS football teams went head to head at Sir Pierre Van Ryneveld High School on April 26 in the second leg of the 2014 SAPS Gauteng Football Association provincial championships.

The first match between the North Rand (which consists of Tembisa Cluster SAPS) and East Rand ( which consists of the Far East Rand such as Springs, Germiston, Katlehong etc.) teams were evenly contested.

It was a tough game which could have gone either way but the game plan of the North Rand was spot on.

“They absorbed the pressure from the East Rand during the first half but North Rand managed to finish them off in the second half by scoring two goals,” Bheki Dube, chairman and tournament director of the SAPS Gauteng Football Association, said.

Even though it was a tough match, the support for both teams by the soccer fans made it an enjoyable day for both players and supporters.
