Junior golf series moves to Kempton on Sunday

The winners in each of the A, B and C divisions of this tournament will qualify for the national final later this year

GAUTENG North’s Albert Venter will seek to become the first back-to-back winner on this year’s Glacier Junior Series when he tees it up in Sunday’s Els Family Tournament at Kempton Park Golf Club.

Venter won the A division is last weekend’s Jannie Ackerman Tournament in Middelburg with a low five-under-par 67, and by a staggering six shots.

This Sunday’s field includes two of the country’s top 10-ranked junior golfers in Tristen Strydom and Keegan de Lange, both of whom have yet to secure a spot in the 2014 national final of South Africa’s premier junior series.

The winners in each of the A, B and C divisions of this tournament will qualify for the national final later this year.

The overall champion here will win an all-expenses paid trip to the prestigious Junior Orange Bowl International Golf Championship in the United States.

The national champion will also win an all-expenses paid trip to attend the World Elite Performance Golf Academy (WEPGA) in Florida after the Orange Bowl, and will join Dale Hayes on a trip to the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida, in January 2015.
