He was the first SA gymnast to win a medal at any major international tournament
ONE of South Africa’s top gymnasts has joined the ranks of Gymagic as coach.
Cristian Brezeanu, better known as Cristi, is a former Romanian national champion and has been a Romanian Olympic team member from 1987 to 1993.
Cristi emigrated to South Africa in 1993 and became a South African citizen in 1995.
He also competed for South Africa in six world championships, three All Africa Games and three Commonwealth Games. He was the first SA gymnast to win a medal at any major international tournament – two silver medals at the Commonwealth Games.
Cristi will join Riaan Kruger, owner and coach at Gymagic Gymnastics, in coaching the Gymagic boys team. He will also present his own adult classes in Kempton Park from June.
