Kempton’s players impressed spectators with controlled, body on the line, guts rugby

KEMPTON Park Rugby Club’s teams made it three out of three in their Merlin League matches against Elsburg at the weekend.

Kempton’s players impressed spectators with controlled, body on the line, guts rugby.

The first team won 62-7, the second team 41-7 and the U/21s 40-24.

New assistant coach for the first team, Hennie, made his presence felt, making the load on Johnny and Robbie lighter. The game plans were clinical with the Kempton club sending out a strong message – the Kempton Boyz are Back.

The scorers in the different games were:

First team: Tries: Pieter Lubbe (2), Ryno Greyling, Zach van Loggerenberg, JP Brummer, Kobus Nel (2), Walter Pretorius and André Smit (2).

Conversions: André Smit (6).

Second team: Tries: Dudley Stemmett (3), Jonathan Shaw, Craig Roesstorff, Martin Minnie and Riek Myburgh.Conversions: Gert Flemix (3).

U/21: Tries: Stephan de Coning, Danie Schmidt, Andries Kuhn, Renier van der Merwe, Dylan Geel and Walter Pretorius.Conversions: Walter Pretorius (5).
