U/19 women softball squad third at nationals

THE Eastern U/19 women’s softball squad participated in the U/19 national championships in Limpopo and finished third. Several of the team members are from Red Sox Softball and Baseball Club in Kempton Park. Back: Ryan van Vuuren (coach, Kempton), Jani Janse van Rensburg (Kempton), Tony Howden (Kempton), Shaylin Griffiths, Janelle van Eck (Kempton), Elsa Jacobs (Kempton), Madelein Bester (Kempton), Kimberly Hand, Carlien Coetzer (Kempton) and Paul Prinsloo (coach, Kempton), Booyens, Griffiths, Weideman, Hand and Howden were selected for the all-star side, the South African team, after the tournament.
