Commonwealth bronze for Kempton bowler
Piketh will be in action again today on the women's pairs
KEMPTON Park bowler and school teacher, Colleen Piketh, won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in Scotland.
Although “robbed” of a medal play-off spot at the world singles in Australia by an inferior shot difference, in spite of being joint leader of her section, Piketh strode to a brilliant bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games.
She beat her Northern Ireland opponent 21-10 to step up even further in the world singles rankings.
Piketh will be in action again today on the women’s pairs. Piketh and Tracy-Lee Botha went down 26-10 to Norfolk Islands. That blow means they must win their last two games and well against Samoa and Scotland today, since their shot difference might well count against them in the final analysis.
