Money problems could ruin players’ tour

They never utter a negative comment and are always motivating the team

TWO dedicated young soccer players from Tembisa need funds to make their dream come true of representing the Easterns team on tour.

Thabo Motsoeneng and Thabatso Malemela (Tobacco as he is called as Coach could not remember his name) joined Edenvale Football Club in 2013 and were included in the U/17 division 1 team.

Through dedication and commitment and great football ability, these two young men have shown a relentless passion for the game.

Thabo and Thabatso were sent to trials and were told they had been selected to go on tour with the Easterns team. “We made it, Coach!” were the words used to be exact.

Through difficult financial times, these two young men find their way to practice twice a week, with Coach taking them home to Tembisa after practice to ease the financial burden.

They never utter a negative comment and are always motivating the team. Not having the money to pay the Easterns fee, could mean the end of this opportunity for Thabo and Thabatso.

These two young men have not once asked for any assistance, their only comment has been: “We are waiting to hear how soon the fees must be paid.” This could mean whether they get to go on tour or not.

Each player needs about R4 000, which includes the R2 000 Easterns fee, R1 000 for boots and shin pads and some spending money while on tour.

Those who can help can call Coach Shane on 082-600-8506.
