Swimmers gear up for regionals

SIX swimmers from Aquatic Academy swam for Eastern Gauteng at the annual Highveld interprovincial at the Delville Pool in Germiston.

Caitlin Stott, the academy’s youngest competitor, who recently turned 10, won silver in her 50m backstroke event, swimming in the 11 and under age group. Caitlin also swam the backstroke leg, with Ashleigh Stock swimming the breaststroke, in the medley relay. They scooped a bronze medal.

Colette Fourie (12) swam in the 100m freestyle and backstroke events, clipping four seconds off her freestyle time, finishing in 1:11.19.

All the swimmers swam personal best times for the season and are now gearing towards the 2015 regional championships in March.
