Tembisa’s Bongani Dlamini on form at ACSA’s Strand Open

Dlamini’s task will not be made any easier by the looming presence of a Groblersdal duo

TEMBISA’S Bongani Dlamini’s hopes to capture the Airports Company South Africa Strand Open title will be put to the test at the Futures event being played at Strand Tennis Club from October 6-9.

The lad from Tembisa, seeded first in the quads draw, will seek to capture the title and continue the winning trend set at the Airports Company South Africa Soweto and Pretoria Opens.

He won his first match on Tuesday against fourth seed Gallant Fernando (SA) 6-2,6-4.

Dlamini has been dominant in this division, claiming numerous titles on the local circuit. His aim is to consolidate his position as top quad player on the local wheelchair tennis circuit.

Dlamini’s task will not be made any easier by the looming presence of Groblersdal’s duo, Danny Mohlamonyane and Queen Nhlapo, who will be looking to quash Dlamini’s landslide winning record in the quad’s section.

Other enviable opponents in this division are the new kid on the block from Venda, Ronewa Mudzananani, and evergreen Port Elizabethan, Fernando Gallant.
