Great start for Kempton’s junior teams

Dylan Nicholas scored the first ton of the season with 100*

KEMPTON Park Junior Cricket Club started off their season with a bang.

The results were:

U/8A beat Duduza: Kempton 164/2. Duduza 60/10. Joshua Shanker 30*, Divan de Vries 21*, Floors Mynhardt 16* and 2/9, Stian Smith 12*, Marko van Voorst 1/5 and Kayden Dickenson 1/4). Man of the match Christaan Kloppers (6/6 in 2.5 overs).

U/8B1 beat Boksburg by 31 runs. Kempton 139/0 with Luke Scrimgeour top scoring with 29*. Boksburg 108/7. Rihal Kissun 1/1.

U/8B2 beat United by 21 runs. Kempton 105/4 with Eric Southey 26 and Armand Rood 12. United 84/10 with Kaedan Naidu 3/2.

U/10 super league beat Kwa Thema by 9 wickets. Kwa Thema were in serious trouble at 16/8 after 10 overs but recovered and was dismissed for 82.

Kempton got to 83 in the 15th over, losing only one wicket.

Kyle Botes (wicket keeper) made 35*, had two stumpings and was involved in two run outs, earning him the man of the match award.

Ronan Maher 2/4, Sarel Erasmus 2/5, Matthew Cowling 1/7, Darien Claassen 1/6, Joshua Gladwin 1/4 and Tiaan Haywood 1/8.

U/10A beat Daveyton by 46 runs. Kempton 148. Daveyton 103. Ian Jonker 36*, Matt Moravec 22*, Reinhard Shaffner 17, Evan Olivier 16 and 3/3 (man of the match).

U/12 super league beat Kwa Thema by 131 runs. Kempton 187/1. Kwa Thema 56/10.

U/12A1 beat Daveyton by 10 wickets. Daveyton 84/10. Luke Moravec man of the match with 39*, Skye Erasmus 32*, James Enslin 2/10, James Kamerman 2/13 and Lourens van Rooyen 2/15.

U/12B1 lost to Benoni Northerns. Benoni Northerns 149/7. Kempton 61/9. Best bowler and batsman went to Liam Renou with 2/11 and 19 runs.

Man of the match was Jonathan Small.

U/14 super league beat Kwa Thema by 50 runs. Defending 182, Kempton took the winning wicket in the 28th over.

Pick of the bowlers were Justin Bennet (2/7) and Keany Jardim (2/18).

Man of the match went to Troy Kyle for his undefeated 96 runs.

U/14A1 beat Benoni Northens by 35 runs.
