Eight Kempton junior teams win their weekend games

KEMPTON Park Junior Cricket Club’s results for the weekend were:

U/8A beat United by 32 runs at home. Kempton 130/6 with Deklin Bekker 22*, Martin Williams 14 and Connor White 17*. United were restricted to 98/9. Top bowlers were Joshua Shanker 3/11, Keagen Bruwer 1/7, Mihir Mangali 1/10, Christiaan Kloppers 1/6 and Martin Williams 1/5 (man of the match).

U/8B1 beat Springs Old Boys by one wicket from the last ball. Springs 97/5 – Tristan Westman 2/9 and Ethan Muller 2/9. Kempton 98/9 – Luke Scrimgeour 30*.

U/8B2 lost against Wattville by 23 runs. Wattville 85/6. Kempton 62. Eric Southey 15, Jandre Basson 12, Tinashe Gumbo 2/9.

U/10 super league lost to SOB by 7 wickets. Kempton 142/8. SOB scored the winning runs with 9 balls to spare. Man of the match Ian van Rhyn scored 36 from 44 balls, which included the first six of the season. Sarel Erasmus supported with 36*. Joshua Gladwin took an outstanding over the shoulder catch to get rid of one of the danger batsmen.

U/10A beat Wattville by 80 runs. Wattville was bowled out for a mere 17 runs.

U/10B1 reached the target of 88 runs in only 13 overs and won by 9 wickets. Man of the match was shared between Jared van Deventer taking two wickets and Kyle Skillings with 25*.

U/10B2 beat Etwatwa by 18 runs. Wiaan van den Berg and Floors Mynhardt each scored 25 runs. Both Wiaan and Ethan Havinga took two wickets each, with Liam Burgan and Evan Nattar costing Etwatwa a further two wickets.

U/12 super league beat SOB by 9 wickets.

U/12A beat United by 18 runs. Man of the match Liam La Grange with 50*.

U/12A2 made 198 and beat Daveyton by 113 runs. Top batsman was Colby with 97 runs.

U/14 super league lost to SOB by 6 wickets. Kempton 120.

U/14A1 lost to Actonville in Benoni.

U/14A2 beat Wattville. Zander de Beer scored 51* with his team reeling on 17/6 and steered the team to 162 (man of the match).

Sean Meintjes took four wickets. Both teams struggled to bowl into a strong gusting cross wind.
