Sugar leads his team to victory

Victory for Hospital View FC.

Hospital View FC beat Freedom Square FC 2-1 in a well-balanced Tembisa United Football Association (TUFA) league game played at the Hospital View Sports Grounds on Sunday.

The home side dominated the first half, while the visitors dominated the second half.

View FC, as they are affectionately called, drew first blood when the lethal striker Collen Mdluli received a loose ball just outside of the 18 yard area. He unleashed a ground-cutter that beat the ‘keeper hands down in the 10th minute.

View FC players pressurised the visitors until they increased the margin through the boot of Harris Khosi. Khosi received a well-timed pass from the dribbling wizard, Mpho “Sugar” Hanyani, from the right flank before curling the ball into the top corner of the net. It was 2-0 at the break.

In the second half, the visitors started raiding the hosts’ midfield, but failed to break the opponents’ rock-solid defence. They reduced the margin when Elias Mthite scored from close range.

Despite the pressure, the hosts held on until the final whistle and won the game 2-1.
