Kempton juniors on winning streak at the weekend
Only two teams could not win their matches
KEMPTON Park Junior Cricket Club’s results for the past weekend were:
U/8B1: Kempton beat Benoni by 10 runs. Kempton 75/4 with top batsman Luke Scrimgeour 11*.
Benoni 65/5 with Stephan Pienaar taking 1/5, Rihal Kissun 1/2 and Christopher Bennett 1/2.
U/8B2: Kempton beat SOB by 20 runs. Kempton 91/8 with Armand Rood 15 and Eric Southey 13. Springs Old Boys 71/5 with Eric Southey, Dino Binks, Jandre Basson and Aryan Pillay all taking wickets.
U/10 super league: Kempton beat Duduza. Kempton 110/6. Duduza 80/6. Top scoring with the willow were Kyle Botes (30) and Kaiyuran Pillay (21). Kempton’s bowlers with great line and length restricted the run flow with Ian van Rhyn taking 2/3 (man of the match), Ronan Maher 2/7, Tiaan Haywood 1/10 and Sarel Erasmus 1/15.
U/10A1: Kempton lost against Benoni. Kempton 92 with Wayne Francis (25) and Zack Smith (man of the match, 37*).
U/10B1: Kempton beat Benoni by 9 runs. Man of the Match was Ruan van der Merwe for exceptional bowling and fielding.
U/10B2: Kempton beat Tembisa by 74 runs. Wiaan vander Berg scored his first half century (51) for his team. Powerful bowling from JJ Joubert and good fielding from the team contributed to three run outs and two stumpings.
U/10B2 played United for a second match on the same weekend and won by 6 wickets. Ethan Havinga and Adam Pansegrouw contributed 64 runs to the total score. Great bowling from Gedion van Zyl and Ethan secured another win for this team.
U/12A1: Kempton beat Boksburg by 10 wickets. James Enslin scored his first 50.
U/12A2: Kempton beat Kwa Thema by 54 runs.
U/12B1: Kempton lost to Benoni Northerns by one wicket. Man of the Match Dwyne Green took four wickets and scored 28 runs
U/12B2: Kempton lost against United by five wickets. Man of the match was Shriyan Moodley (2/8 and 6*).
