Kempton’s juniors’ winning streak carries on

THE junior teams of Kempton Park Cricket had another good weekend.

U/8A: Kempton beat Avion at home. Kempton 125/2 with Joshua Shanker 34*, Divan de Vries 15*, Connor White 12* and Floor Mynhardt 10.

Avion was dismissed for 86 with Joshua James 2/7 (man of the Match), Joshua Shanker 1/8, Divan de Vries 1/6, Connor White 2/8, Floors Myhardt 1/10 and Marko van Voorst 2/7.

U/8B1: Kempton beat SOB with 3 runs. Luke Scrimgeour contributed to the total of 99/4 scoring his maiden 50 with 51*.

Superb bowling by Dehan Muller (3/5 off 3) and Aayush Sharma (2/10 off 3) limited SOB to 96/8.

U/8B2: Kempton beat Wattville at Willomoore Park. After winning the toss and electing to field, Kempton dismissed Wattville 47 runs. Eric Southey (2/1 in 2 overs), Ryan Moravec, Tinashe Gumbo, Ethan Simpson and Ewan Swart all took wickets. Kempton scored the required runs in the 10th over. Aryan Pillay top scored with 11* and Chadyn van Zyl made 9*.

U/10 super league beat SOB, who batted first with the Kempton spinners causing havoc form the start. Matthew Cowling (man of the match) 3/7 and Ronan Maher 2/14 had SOB pinned down.

Pace bowlers Sarel Erasmus 1/3 and Kaiyuran Pillay 2/2 had the final say in SOB’s total of 40 all out. Easilen Ruthnam (18) was the best batsman for KP. Kempton reached 42/3 in the 10th over.

U/10A: KP lost against Avion at home. Avion 139. Ian Jonker bowled an excellent spell taking 3/1. Kempton chased it down, but with tight bowling by Avion in the last few overs Kempton came 9 runs short. Best batsmen were Bjorn Slabbert (35, man of the match) and Kyle Stevens 19.

U?10B1: Kempton beat Avion by 6 wickets with a third win in a row. Man of the match went to Mared Giugh taking 2/4.

U/10B2: Kempton beat Etwa Twa with 3 runs with 7 balls to spare.

U/12 super league: Kempton beat Duduza by 170 runs. Kempton 197/8 with Teryn Marais 48, Luke Gunter 26 and Phillip Schoeman 26. Duduza were then bowled out for 27 with Guillaume van Niekerk 5/7 and Enrico Potgieter 2/3.

U/12B1: Kempton lost to Avion by 6 wickets. Dwyne Green took 2 wickets and scored 39 earning the man of the match.

U/14A1: Kempton lost to Vosloorus.
