Kempton’s U/10A team outplays Vosloorus

Another good weekend for juniors

THE junior teams of Kempton Park Cricket Club had yet another good weekend.

The results were:

U/8A: Kempton beat Benoni by 23 runs after setting Benoni a target of 93 to win. Man of the match went to Divan de Vries (23* and 1/1 in 2 overs).

U/10 super league: Kempton faced second on the log Benoni Northerns. Kempton batted first and scored 142/4 in 25 overs. Top batsmen were Darien Claassen (51) and Joshua Gladwin (33*).

Benoni could only manage 128/7 with tight bowling and excellent fielding having run outs by Ian van Rhyn and Reece Winter.

The best bowlers were Kyle Botes (2/14 in 4), Sarel Erasmus (1/7 in 3) and Ian van Rhyn (1/11 in 3). Man of the match went to Darien Claassen scoring his maiden club 51 and taking 1/7 in 3 overs. Kaiyuran Pillay took a brilliant catch.

U/10A: Kempton totally outplayed Vosloorus. Vosloorus batted first and was dismissed for 15 runs with Dihan du Toit (man of the match) taking 4/5 in 3 overs and Jordan Southey 3/0 in 3 overs.

Opening batsmen Mikailin Reddy and Caleb James made the winning total in 4th over.

U/10B2: Kempton beat Boksburg by 5 wickets. Zandre Coetzee was awarded man of the match for his great all round performance.

U/12A1: Kempton beat United by 1 wicket. Kempton chased the winning total with a wicket to spare. James Kamerman was man of the match with 3/9 in 4 overs and 12 runs.

U/12A2: lost to Boksburg by one run. Man of the match was Daniel Wilken (46*).
