Gunners win on penalties
Kopanong Gunners beat Tembisa Sunshine 3-1 after a penalty shoot-out, to win an U/16 Top Four Tournament, which was played at the Mvelaphanda Grounds on Saturday.
The penalty shoot-out took place after neither team could take the lead during the match.
Even though Tembisa Sunshine’s players looked older than the required age, the Kopanong Gunners matched them pound for pound throughout the game.
The team’s creative midfielder, Wiggdom Ramokgonanie, was a marvel to watch on the day, but he showed signs of fatigue in the second half.
He was complimented by Karabo Mothiba, who despite his physical appearance, had the defence running helter skelter whenever in possession of the ball.
Tembisa Sunshine missed three penalties, while the Kopanong Gunners scored three penalties through Mpho Mokoena, Siviqe Qhwesha and Lefa Makgosa.
