PSG wins Easter tournament
PSG FC's U/15 team has won the Tembisa WafaWafa Easter Games Soccer Tournament, which took place at the Thafeni Sports Grounds.
The tournament kicked off on Friday last week.
The Thafeni Sports Grounds were packed with supporters, despite the cloudy weather conditions, waiting to see who would take victory between Tembisa Sports Centre FC and PSG FC.
PSG won 3-0 in the finals, to clinch the tournament.
The team was awarded a trophy and gold medals.
To qualify for the finals, the team defeated Highland City FC 3-1.
During the finals, PSG FC players scored their first goal through the reliable striker Sandile Mabena in the seventh minute of the first half.
When the half-time whistle blew, the score was still 1-0.
In the second half, both teams came back well and Mabena scored his second goal.
Tembisa Sports Centre FC tried to score, but found PSG’s goalkeeper Mahlatse Seabi was more than capable of defending his team’s goal.
Against the run of play, PSG FC’s right winger, Ntokozo Mtahobela, scored his team’s third goal.
The game ended with a 3-0 victory for PSG FC.
The team’a coach, Mr Mlamuli Khongelwayo, said he was extremely excited his team won the Easter tournament.
“We wanted to win. I am impressed by the performance of my boys. They made me proud,” he said.
