Colgate road race on May 3

The race, which again offers tremendous value for money, will start and finish at Boksburg City Stadium

TIME is running out for athletes to take hold of a superb opportunity to run a personal best on the fast route of the 2015 Colgate 15/32km road race presented by Boksburg Athletic Club on May 3.

The route will start in Jubilee Road and runners will run towards Brakpan, turning off at Barry Marais Road. They will then turn into Van Wyk Louw Drive where the first water point will be.

The runners will follow Van Wyk Louw Drive until they turn into Heidelberg Road where the second water point will be. They will then turn into Leeuwpoort Street and continue along this road until they reach the third water point outside of the Colgate premises.

After Colgate they will turn into Van Dyk Road for a short distance and then into Power Street, Brakpan Road, Lonie Road (4th water point) and continue down until they turn into the stadium gates in Dudley Smith Road.

The 15km runners will run onto the stadium track to complete their run, while the 32km runners will continue out of the back stadium gates (water point for the 32km runners will be set up here) and do another loop of the above route.

To add an extra 2km into the 32km race the runners will do a loop in Boksburg South, running in the streets of Snyman, Dagama, Stanbury, Dick King, Walton and Dundee before joining the route of the 15km.

The race, which again offers tremendous value for money, will start and finish at Boksburg City Stadium. Entries will still be taken up to the Saturday before the race until the 6 000 limit of entrants has been reached. No entries will be accepted on race day.

Apart from the road races there will also be a 50m dash for children under the age of eight at 10am with no entry fee. Medals to all. There will also be jumping castles for the children and for the spectators and family members you can indulge in lovely food and warm drinks.

There is also a 6km fun run at 7am with the first 2 000 finishers receiving medals.
