Players wanted for development
Mamelodi Sundowns FC's development coach, Mr Jabulani Mthanyelo, said they are looking for young footballers in and around Tembisa.
Mr Mthanyelo, one of the hard working Tembisa coaches, said they want to polish young, interested footballers for the Mamelodi Sundowns Academy based in Pretoria.
He added that they are targeting players for U/11 and U/13.
“We are encouraging football players to take part in this initiative. We also appeal to parents to give their full support to their children. Sometimes when we play tournaments, they need to come and support them, to see what their children are capable of. Tembisa youngsters have potential in football, they just need us to support and guide them,” he added.
Mr Mthanyelo, who has been coaching different teams for more than 20 years, added that they urge players to bring their own football kit during training.
“Tembisa footballers are privileged because we have professional players who sometimes come to give words of encouragement,” he said.
The training will be held at the Winnie Mandela Primary School Sports Grounds from Monday to Saturday. Training will run from 3:30pm to 5pm.
