Marie Horne wins women’s championships

MARIE Horne is the women’s open champion at Avion Park Bowling Club.

Horne played against Grace Beech in the final on April 12, winning the championship.

The results of the club championships played on Sunday were:

Women’s senior singles: Grace Beech bt Maureen Cushnay.

Women’s handicap singles: Christina du Plessis bt Elizanne du Toit.

Women’s novice singles: Angie Bacon bt Ansie Schroeder.

Mixed pairs: Robbie and Nellie Pretorius bt Philip Smallwood and Marie Horne, Jo-jo van Dyk and Karen Francis bt Glynn Fourie and Cecelia du Plessis.

Men’s novice singles: Willie Francis bt Johannes Botes.
