Dolphin and Status FC’s game ends in nailbiter
Towards the end of the game Status goalkeeper made three brilliant saves to deny Dolphin what could have been a late win
AFTER a nailbiting 3-3 draw against Lucky United the week before, Dolphin FC had another tight match ending in a draw of 1-1 against Status FC.
The game, which was played on Dolphin’s home ground, was pulsating as both teams wanted to win.
Dolphin needed a win to increase the gap to seven points with seven games left, and Status needed to win to reduce the gap to one point.
Towards the end of the game, the Status goalkeeper made three brilliant saves to deny Dolphin what could have been a late win.
At the end, the result was fair to both teams.
“We must keep the fair play and the entertainment, as well as the competitiveness high. I think the crowd enjoyed the game. There was no rough playing and no pushing or shoving among players and the game was flowing,” said Dolphin manager, Fanuel Boke.
Mpho “Lolipop” Nakeni scored for Dolphin and Thabang Ximba scored for Status.
Boke added, “We still have hope to end the season on top and go to the play-offs for promotion to the SAB regional league. That is our dream.”
