Young golfers receive golf equipment
Young golfers received new equipment and attire from the Tembisa Golf Club on Sunday.
Nearly 20 young golfers from the Tembisa Junior Golf Development Club received golf equipment and attire from the club on Sunday.
The donation formed part of the SA Open Golf Championship legacy.
The Tembisa Golf Club is committed to the development of golf.
Members have gone out of their way to ensure that with Ekurhuleni’s hosting of the European co-sanctioned SA Open Golf event, the children of Tembisa will benefit via the legacy project that the club’s executive insisted on.
According to the secretary of the Tembisa Golf Club, Mr Benjamin Monyanyedi, there are several benefits, including the Kempton Park Academy which hosts golfing lessons and events for the children every Saturday and during school holidays. These have been hosted for the past three years.
“These children will grow up to become decent human beings as the programme, among other things, affords them the opportunity to grow. This is good for the club, good for the Tembisa community and good for the youngsters as well,” he said.
