Siblings off to world champs

They are both members of Kempton Park BMX club

A brother and sister from Kempton Park will take part in the UCI BMX World Championships in Zolder, Belgium, from July 21 to 25.

Francois and Kaylin Smith made news in Kempton Express in 2013 when they did their first SA champs. Kaylin got a SA1 and Francois a SA3 number. They both participated at the BMX world championships in Rotterdam, Netherlands, last year.

Kaylin, a grade five learner at Laerskool Kruinsig, is currently a consecutive South African champion in the girls 9-12 expert class.

Francois, a grade eight learner at Hoƫrskool Kempton Park, SA3 and currently SA4 rider, was off for seven months with a broken arm but is back and ready to participate at the world champs.

Francois and Kaylin both belong to Kemton Park BMX Club.
